		<description>The irony is that initiatives just like this are a contributory factor to the very poverty these initiatives are designed to alleviate.

What poor families need are not handouts but jobs and a welfare system that does not encourage dependency.  Reduce immigration of low skilled workers, reduce welfare payments and enact supply side reforms to the economy and, as if by magic, jobs will appear in the market place and people will become richer through work.

This initiative probably comes from a good place, and it is difficult to argue against people who only want to help others, but when it is their well intentioned policies that are partly causing the problem, then something must be said.</description>
