I’m not able to go through your archive, but is this the first piece about Islamic extremism in your extensive archive under the ‘Racism and Extremism’ title? Just asking.

On the subject of the Caliphate, I wonder what you make of Osama Saeed, an SNP candidate for the coming election? He has called for the establishment of a Caliphate – there’s no getting away from it, however much he tries to depict it as a kind of liberal Muslim version of the EU.

And while we’re on the subject of Scotland, a bit of self-criticism from the Left over the STUC’s call for Celtic fans to wave Palestinian flags at tonight’s match against Tel-Aviv would not go amiss. It is, quite simply, an attempt to fan the flames of sectarianism in Scotland and in Israel/Palestine. Would they have asked Rangers fans to do the same? I doubt it.
