I think you may be stretching things slightly by trying to make the increase in those classed as economically inactive disappear on the basis of the 81,000 rise in students.

Almost certainly a big factor driving this rise in student numbers will have been the tightness of the jobs market. Having failed to find employment many people will have opted to study or retrain instead. Clearly this is not necessarily a positive sign.
