The Conservatives are really all over the place.

Was it not that same Ken Clark who told the Sunday Times that he would not want to make “unsupportable cuts?”

And the Nobel Prize-winning economist, who you’ve highlighted, said I believe that it was more important to get the economy moving than cut the debt.

And this is the same IMF who Cameron likes talking about, a, lot!

What a mess!

How can you say that the letter doesn’t support tory claims that cuts should start now when they clearly state ”

However, in order to be credible, the government’s goal should be to eliminate the structural current budget deficit over the course of a parliament, and there is a compelling case, all else being equal, for the first measures beginning to take effect in the 2010-11 fiscal year.

These “first measures” are cuts and the fiscal year starts in 2 months!
