I would consider Labour if they genuinely became a 'progressive' party. However their authoritarian track record of doubling the prison population in 13 years, flagrant disregard for civil liberties and passing an unprecedented amount of legislation (6000+ new criminal offences, 50+ criminal justice acts, dna database etc) on top of presiding over an increase in inequality.. means that I find the idea of a 'progressive' labour party to be an oxymoron. I honestly despair at the state of politics in this country and am off to europe as soon as I can find an equivalent job.
