Amidst all the debates on wind farms, and the publication of the Energy Bill last week, DECC today published the latest energy trends.

The graph below, using data from the Total Energy section of Energy Trends publication (pdf) shows inland UK energy consumption by sector from Q1 2011 to Q2 2012:

In the most recent quarter, natural gas and petroleum accounted for 34% each; coal 22%; nuclear 9%; and wind and natural flow hydro less than one per cent.
