What do you in a local council election in a given ward, when the two leading candidates get exactly the same number of votes, repeatedly after several recounts. They draw straws. See the video here.
What do you in a local council election in a given ward, when the two leading candidates get exactly the same number of votes, repeatedly after several recounts? Draw straws. (Or cable ties).
This is what happened in the Ramsbottom ward in Bury. The council hung on a knife-edge, but due to her superior straw-drawing prowess, Labour candidate Joanne Columbine, won the election and the council for Ed Miliband’s party.

We can assure the NO2AV campaign that spending on the straws did not have to be taken out of the baby incubator budget.

When an electoral system is drawing straws to choose politicians, one wonders how many claim there's nothing with it. http://bit.ly/kE9084
